It is a small 16th century town situated on the Wieprz River and surrounded with the Krasnobrodzki Landscape Park. Due to its unique climate and air as well as water resources it has obtained the status of a health resort. No wonder Sanatorium Rehabilitacyjne [Rehabilitation Sanatorium] for Children was built here and for those who like swimming – an artificial lake, which will be extended soon, with lots of facilities for holidaymakers. Krasnobród is also famous for miracles which take place thanks to Our Lady of Krasnobród, often celled “The Lady of the Roztocze district”. She has her sanctuary in Krasnobród, which attracts over 100 thousand pilgrims every year. There is a Chapel on Water with a miraculous spring, where Mother of God is said to have revealed Herself to a poor peasant. People from all over the region come here to get water from the spring; the water if good for drinking but it is also said to have healing properties for those who come here with faith and piety. Around the town there are many cycling trails and hiking routes.
