The skating rink

by yourself or with friends to improve your health, get fit and have fun. The skating rink placed in the Rynek, in front of the Town Hall, is available to the residents and visitors who happen to visit Zamość in winter. It is open from December till March and has a skate renting facility, where you can borrow skates.

You can perform pirouettes on the skating rink or admire the skating performances given by real skating champions, who are often invited to the town. They encourage people to skate and have great fun on the ice rink.

Sometimes town administrators also put on skates and join the fun or Santa Claus drops in to give presents to skiers; sometimes Winnie-the-Pooh appears here with his friends.  Everybody feels happy then. Various competitions, dance contests and events during which Christmas gifts are handed round are organised on the skating rink. It is also here that the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity plays every January.
