The monument stands in Akademicka Street, opposite the academy, at the site of a former school garden. It was also at this site that Nazis shot about 2 thousand people during the occupation. The monument was erected in 1962. On a 3-m granite boulder there is a bronze tablet which reads: “TO THE CHILDREN OF ZAMOŚĆ REGION MURDERED, DEPORTED BY THE NAZIS IN 1942 AND 1943 – ON THE TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF DISPLACEMENTS AND PACIFICATIONS – INHABITANTS OF ZAMOŚC REGION”.
